Chicago White Sox Game
I have never been to a baseball game and I do not understand baseball at all. Come Sunday afternoon, we seniors boarded yellow school buses and were on our way to U.S. Cellular Field to watch my very first baseball game!
Chicago White Sox won the World Series Championship in 2005 and the whole city of Chicago celebrated! They last won in...1906 & 1917. LOL.
VS.
U.S. Cellular Field
It was HOT and SUNNY when we boarded the bus and when we arrived at U.S. Cellular Field.
After we bought food and went to the stands, it was drizzling. And in 5 minutes, it was freaking POURING!!!
We were all drenched like a "falling soup chicken" ("luo tang ji"). A couple of my girlfriends decided to leave in the pouring rain as I waited with the boys. Yeah, one of the boys. Well, I wasn't going to miss my last chance to watch a baseball game!
The base was quickly covered to protect the sand as people were scrambling for cover.
After an hour of heavy pouring rain, it miraculously stopped.
THE GAME IS STILL ON.
Whew, for a moment, I thought I was not going to be able to watch a baseball game after all.
The unveiling of the base took some time. The little men in black came out and pulled the cover off in unison to get rid of the rain water. Then they pulled the cover in the other direction again to roll it up properly. Then they scattered sand around the base in a very pretty pattern =p.
Note the neon yellow dots of people amongst the audience?

They're the...food and drinks people.
I believe that most of the revenue from a baseball game (or any sports events like basketball, football etc.) come from OVERPRICED food and drinks. We are not allowed to bring in any food or drinks (and they have security people to check that!) so they can charge whatever they want to.
Meet the Margarita Man:
Yes, that's margarita he's carrying. He wears a badge that says "Margarita $6.95". He checks your ID (because you have to be over 21 to drink in the US. Lame.) and then he squirts margarita into a cup for you.
Meet the Beer Man:
OK, he's not very exciting because he just lugs bottles of beers around to sell. But kesian him, have to carry the heavy beer up the stairs and down the stairs of the stands.
Minnesota Twins batted first. Then the Chicago White Sox.
Then in the 2nd inning (out of 9 innings), Nick Swisher from the Chicago White Sox hit a home run!!! There were fireworks!!! But I was in shock, so by the time I whisked out my camera, only smoke was left.
The score was 8-1 in favor of Chicago White Sox when I left at the end of the 3rd inning. And the Chicago White Sox won 12-2. YEAH!!! Go Chicago!
mr. boyfriend and I in front of the field and with the view of downtown Chicago in the background.
