Kudos to the Malaysian Dreamgirl production crew!

Yes, MDG still has a lot to learn and lot to improve on but AT LEAST MDG is listening to the comments of the viewers.

In Episode 10, Elaine Daly came on the set to be with the girls. Finally, she explained what the photo shoot was about.

But seriously?
"This photo shoot is about hair."
*falls off my chair*

At first, she told them that they will not be receiving any directions but in the end, Elaine Daly gave them a lot of directions and told them what to do and what not to do.

"They still need a lot of direction."
"They should be pro by now."

Duh. *smack hand on forehead* How can they be pros already?!?

It's obvious that they still have lots to learn! Besides Fiqa's photo (she does not quite look like herself in this shot, which shows that she can be a chameleon as a model, and her eyes have a different intensity), I'm not impressed with the other girls at all!



All the dra-ma with "that one" is just fun-ny. Haha, "that one" has a name too you know! I have come to the conclusion that "that one" needs her hair on her sides at all times to soften her cheeks because with all her hair up in this photo shoot, she simply looks...'nuff said. It's really nothing against her, because I'm also one of those people who needs hair on her sides too or else I'll look...'nuff said. I'm just saying that the Wella Professionals people could have chosen a better hairstyle for her.

No offense! But the hairstyle they chose for Ringo is totally wrong for her! Poor Ringo! Ringo has a squarish jawline, so how can they choose a hairstyle with a middle parting and then with two huge buns of curls on the sides??? Wella Professionals, what were you thinking!?!?

Malaysian Dreamgirl FINALLY has dra-ma flying everywhere and designated Cindy as the show's official "b*tch" for the last few episodes. NOT that I say that she is, but reality shows simply have the tendency of portraying at least one person as the official "b*tch" just to make the show much more interesting to watch. (America's Next Top Model Cycle 10 now has Dominique as the official "b*tch"!) No offense, Cindy, but you do seem to put on some kind of fake accent!

Their White Summer photo shoot was a good change. But it gets annoying when they interviewed EVERY SINGLE girl to ask them how they feel about the shoot and the answers were: "really fun!", "very white, very pure", "I like this photo shoot", "very happy la all of us". It suffices to hear this from a few girls especially since their answers are oh so not original. Seriously.


(Adeline looks absolutely cute but her smile is kinda stuck in the same smile. Love her 1st and 3rd shot but there can definitely be more variations in the shots.)


(I like that this picture showed different sides of Cindy. However, this picture shows that she can be a catalogue model, but anything more, I don't think so.)

One HUGE problem I have with Malaysian Dreamgirl:
"Are the girls really learning how to be a model from this experience?"


(Eyna finally showed the world that she has a fantabulous smile! This picture showed different sides of her--how glamorous she can look even when she's having a good time laughing!)


(Some people do not like this picture of Fiqa that much but I love it! Albeit the 2nd and 4th pic looking similar, the 1st showed her candidness and the 3rd showed her coy shyness...I love it!)

Firstly, it is not shown whether they were receiving directions during the photo shoot. Therefore, we do not know how well each of them takes direction and how well they improvise on their own to take good pictures.
(It's a huge difference whether the good picture had to be "forced" out of them after many many shots or whether they are easily directed or whether they came up with the idea themselves)


(I think I expected more from Hanis for this photo shoot. Yes, the pictures are amazingly beautiful but so is she, so that hardly justifies that she took good model shots. Again, catalogue model-yes, fashion/couture model-I don't know!)


(Jay Jay Jay...very beautiful pictures but all 4 looks are almost the same! Where's the laughing shots? These are all smiling shots! Of course, she looks elegant as ever but where's the laugh in the summer?)

Secondly, the judging panel. Obviously, the votes already came in when Sazzy delivers her comments and announces who is the one being eliminated. But her comments are a tad ~bleah~ and it does not always hit right on the nail. Do the girls actually learn what were their mistakes in the photo and what they actually did right?


(Good Job Nadia! Love the shyness of the 1st shot, the fierceness of the 2nd shot, the relaxedness of the 3rd shot and the candidness of the 4th shot.)

(Some commented that they can't really see Ringo's eyes, maybe because of the eye makeup? But honestly, Ringo can definitely do something about it by not always looking into the camera like the other girls! As always, Ringo looks beautiful--sweet, laughing, approachable--but I expected more from her because her other pictures were gooooood!)

I wish Malaysian Dreamgirl is not purely a popularity contest (because that's what it seems right now!)...

...because guess who got voted out?

Sorry for the late update! I had this fantabulously huge migraine which resulted in me sleeping from 4.30 p.m. yesterday to 7.00 a.m. this morning and I skipped dinner!

toilet experiences and classes

When I was visiting the washroom of one of the Monte Carlo casinos, I was very amused by the toilet seat-cleaning method that the toilets use.

I thought it was the coolest thing ever! (ok, maybe not THAT cool)

Nothing compares to the Japanese toilets though...nice warm toilet seats (imagine how nice that is in the winter!), music playing (choice of ocean waves or chirping birds), water jet stream that shoots right at your *ahem* to clean it (which I never dared to try but some told me that it's an "ooh" "aah" feeling).

I'm currently enrolled in a beginner's swimming class and an introductory to yoga class. I have to either complete the swimming class or pass a swim test, otherwise, I CANNOT GRADUATE!!!

The instructor said that the water was heated to 80 degrees (fahrenheit, so approx 27 degrees celcius) but it'd still be kind of cold. I jumped into the pool and I almost wanted to just jump out and run to stand under one of those hand dryers to stay warm! 80 degrees my foot!

Yoga is starting to get interesting. I almost fell asleep today and the last class because I was lost in the instructions and the instructor told us to "CLOSE YOUR EYES". Helloooo...that's like saying, "GO TO SLEEP".
