I'm baaaaaaaaack~~~

I love you all people who still check on my blog although I was away...btw, Paris-Nice-Barcelona rocks!!!

I promise pictures later k? (There's actually not a lot and what I have aren't very pretty because it was still cold and gray in Europe...disappointed with my camera skills la).

******************************************

I won a RM100 preloaded AmBank NexG Prepaid MasterCard!

I submitted my entry about the Malaysian Dreamgirl (here) to The Malaysian Dreamgirl Blog Contest just for fun and I won one of the 10 consolation prizes!

The Catch: I have to go pick up my prize in KL within a month.

Yeah...fly all the way back from Chicago to KL just to pick up my RM100 preloaded AmBank NexG Prepaid MasterCard...VERY TEMPTING right!

Should I or should I not?

I rarely win prizes lehhhh...how?

You know one of those terrible dreams/nightmares where you're supposed to be at the airport already but you've not packed yet or forgotten your tickets/passport?

Last Friday (finals week), I emailed my EALC109 paper to my TA at 11.54 a.m., which was due at 12 noon. mr. boyfriend desperately needed a haircut so I insisted that we go to Chinatown for the haircut plus lunch if there's time but we ended up having lunch with mr. boyfriend's friend who was visiting from UVA (WITHOUT the haircut). We got back from Chinatown at 2 p.m., WITHOUT our clean laundry, WITHOUT anything packed, WITHOUT taking a shower, WITHOUT printing our ticket confirmations/itineraries, WITHOUT planning our spring break trip and of course, WITHOUT saying au revoir to you guys! And the cab was scheduled to arrive at 3 p.m.! ARGH! It was my worst nightmare coming true!

*********************************************

My little sister got into JHU and Rice University!!! Congratulations!

with love from Paris!

BONJOUR!!!

I didn't get to say AU REVOIR before I rushed to the airport but I guess BONJOUR works too!

My worst nightmare came true...and I'll explain it all later when I come back from Europe.

I LOVE PARIS (pah-hee!)

and onwards to NICE tomorrow...

lots of pics coming up when I'm back =)

XOXO

squeeze me some juice

I'm OFFICIALLY done with my major!
(well, if I don't fail CHEM 262 and CHEM 267 that is...hmm...damn must *cross fingers tight tight*)
No more science classes! WOOT!

...but I'm not done with finals yet *sigh*.

Sorry, have to squeeze ALL my creative juices to write 3 essays on Japanese history/civilization so no interesting post today.

I absolutely hate writing papers so maybe my creative juices will be *dry* for a few days even after Friday. The essays are not easy to write, not because they have to be intellectually brilliant and insightful, but for each essays I have to link 3 words from a list to a common theme and they do not have any direct connections! Help!

Ganbatte!

After my freshmen year in college, I gained a hefty 20 pounds.
(damn fat ok...depressing times...blame it on chocolate chip cookies!)

Then before junior year, I started dating mr. boyfriend and I lost 20 pounds.
(is this a cause-and-effect relationship?? hmm...)

I dropped from a US size 8 to a US size 4.
(yes, I was size 8 from the waist down and size 0-2 from the waist up...so stop telling me that I was not fat! so disproportionate!)

Then I discovered EXPRESS jeans.

O-M-G. I LOVE my EXPRESS jeans. I love them so much that I bought the Zelda Skinny Jeans series in ALL the colors available (black, midnight rinse, inky blue, moonlight).

Now, sad to say, I'm fighting to stay a US size 4.
(Yes, Pringles and Chips Ahoy, it's all your fault!)

Damn sad (*tear*) because I love being a size 4 and I love not worrying about whether my flabby tummy is showing if my shirt rides up and I love wearing my shorts and short skirts. Even sadder is that I have invested quite a huge sum of money in buying many many new pairs of jeans (not just EXPRESS, Ben Sherman and A&F etc) in size 4, so if I no longer fit in my jeans, it's *flush* money gone just like that.

Spring is coming (supposed to be here by now but as usual, late!) and I want to be able to wear my spring/summer stuff!
(*merajuk*)

So I came up with this brilliant plan.

Have you guys heard of The Biggest Loser?

My friends and I will be competing to win $100 by losing the highest percentage of our starting body weight.

So far, there's 5 of us who are in this (including mr. boyfriend). It should be a fun way to lose some excess weight and strive for a more toned and fit body. Starting 1st week of Spring Quarter, we'll have weekly weigh-ins until the final weigh-in during 10th week.

What else can I say?

Go away evil temptations!

Staying up to study is really a hazard to my health.
Seriously, think about it.
First, the coffee (caffeine overdose).
Second, the lose of sleep.
(very important beauty sleep since I'm no longer young *boo*hoo* got wrinkles!)

Then, of course, the junk food snacking.

Pringles and Chips Ahoy!
Don't you dare tempt me again tonight! Evil! Pure evil!

MY Malaysian Dreamgirl no more *tear*

(Taken from facebook-Malaysian Dreamgirl by Jean)

A Message from Jean, your Malaysian Dreamgirl
Dear family, friends and supporters of mine,

In light of recent developments, I have had a realignment of my priorities.

I dream of a future that is bright and promising, offering me a chance at success. To that end, I have to endure challenges on my own.

I feel that my best bet, and safest path, is to secure a good degree in pharmacy and to develop my personality and intellect. It is, in other words, my dream.

I have chosen to devote more time to my studies and my family. My tenure at Malaysian Dreamgirl has been an exhilirating one - fun and memorable - but it does not deliver what I truly seek.

After much deliberation, I have decided to withdraw from the Malaysian Dreamgirl contest. It comes with little heavy heart, but a sense of optimism of my future.

I thank each and every one of my supporters. Thank you for your support - it endears me to read every one of your messages.

No regrets.

Your Malaysian Dreamgirl,
Jean

************************************************************************************

Damn. She's actually my favorite in Malaysian Dreamgirl. She has it all--well-spoken, confidence, height, high cheekbones etc. Ah well, I guess I'll have to pick a different favorite now...damn. I really really really thought that she has a good shot and she'll at least be the top 3, if not the eventual winner. Sad la oooiiii...

I really need to sleep...

1. Malaysian Dreamgirl update
OMG the girls on Malaysian Dreamgirl scream just as much as the girls on America's Next Top Model. O-M-G. Please stop screaming, pleeeeaassseeeeee? Most had a lot of good things to say about the others--must be politically correct otherwise people might not vote for you ma--but there's a teeny bit of bitchiness surfacing and I'm loving it! Be more bitchy la...(in my dreams...hard to imagine Malaysians being bitchy on national TV/internet). When Elaine Daly asked everyone what was their reaction about Ringo's return to the show, it was *cricket* *cricket*. Say what you have to say lah LOL...because when you say it behind people's back, it'd come back to you too!

Makeover notes: Adeline-don't like; Alison-good improvement; Cindy-not quite the right haircut; Eyna-she needs volume; Fiqa-LOVE it; Hanis-too sweet (but love it); Jay-what's the difference?; Jean-LOVE it (she has the features to carry it off!); Nadia-eewwee; Natasha-meh; Ringo-LIKE it (makes her look younger); Valerie-WOW.

Too many with short hair and too many with colored hair. Somehow, it feels like they're doing a lot of short hair just because a lot of celebrities are going for short hair. And ironically, after commenting during the auditions that we Asians should be proud of our black hair and black/brown eyes, a lot of the girls end up with colored hair *sweat drop*.

2. SPM
Have you guys heard? The 10A1s, 11A1s, 12A1s, 13A1s, 14A1s, 15A1s and yes, even the 17A1s that we obtained for SPM are NOTHING! N-O-T-H-I-N-G! Because Azali here kicked all our asses by becoming the first, the one and only "21A Student".

"Azali said [...] that he had dates and drank honey for strength every day." The Star

Damn, I need to stock up on dates and honey now.

Wanna bet on how long it'd take for Azali to start endorsing products on the media/TV?

3. Hotline for miserable students
Call the Kuala Lumpur Hospital now unless you're Azali.

Malaysian Dreamgirl

America's Next Top Model Cycle 10
Sorry...not Malaysia's Next Top Model! It's Malaysian Dreamgirl la.

For those who have not heard what Malaysian Dreamgirl is about, it's the first reality model search in Malaysia (think America's Next Top Model) that is to be full broadcast over the internet at Malaysian Dreamgirl.

Some complain that the judges (Elaine Daly, Lim Jimmy, Kenny Sia) are too full of themselves. Some complain that it's another Malaysian ripoff version of foreign shows (not the same la oi...Malaysians get to VOTE who becomes Malaysian Dreamgirl in American Idol-style!). Some complain that the prizes are not model-related at all.

I say, they complain a lot, don't they?

So the Top 12 have been chosen by the judges. Whether these 12 girls are really the "Top 12", that's not for me to judge since I didn't get to see or hear all the contestants. The pictures are before and after makeovers (ooh...I LOVE makeovers!)
(The following pictures are taken from http://www.malaysiandreamgirl.tv/top12.html)

#1: ADELINE

#2: ALISON

#3: CINDY

#4: EYNA

#5: FIQA

#6: HANIS

#7: JAY

#8: JEAN

#9: NADIA

#10: NATASHA

#11: RINGO

#12: VALERIE

Needless to say, some don't speak English very well and some are just outright boring (come on, you can't even give an interesting introduction?). From their introductions, I can so tell what questions were given to them to answer:

1) Tell us about yourself and that you're running for Malaysian Dreamgirl.
2) Tell us why you think you can be the Malaysian Dreamgirl.
3) Why should the other girls watch out for you?

The finalists just simply have no sass and no attitude and no personality (see...so different from America's Next Top Model...cannot be rip-off from ANTM la). Pretty or not, yes la...pretty. Model potential? Maybe la...the makeover has been a great improvement for most of them so we'll just have to wait and see what the girls learn from this experience.

I'll be catching the episodes online (new episodes every Thursday and Saturday) to see...

(In Tyra Bank's voice)
: "Who will be...Malaysian Dreamgirl?!"
